festive shopping | ootd + fotd

Hello! Oh my sorry it's been ages since I have posted - I have literally been so so busy, who knew A-Levels had so much work ay.. 

Anyway today I went shopping for christmas decorations with my Mum and Sister at a garden centre near us. 

 I absolutely love it in there - there's so many christmassy things and we bought quite a bit which I am looking forward to putting up (when it's nearer to christmas of course...)

So here is what I wore and how I did my makeup for when I was out today!

Autumn/Fall Makeup look | FOTD

Hello! Here is a quick makeup look that I wore today.  I thought it looked quite Autumnal and so decided I would share it with you.  Hope you like it!

All of my face make up is just the same as it is everyday, 

which is explained in my 'FOTD | Daily Makeup' post.

As you can see it's a pretty neutral eye look, I've used a few different shades of brown and a mossy green colour to add a tiny bit of color.  The colors I have used are:

 '40 Khaki' by No7 (Just above my crease)

'Mineral Earth' (In my crease) and 'Regal' (In my outer corner) from the sleek palette 'Au Naturel' I definitely recommend this palette it's one of my favourites.

A goldy shade from an old Elizabeth Arden Palette (On my lid)

Mossy green shades especially suit Hazel and Green eyes, dark purple also looks nice!

On my lips I am wearing a purple toned lipstick.  It is the same as the one I have mentioned in 'My top 5 drugstore products' post.  Its a lovely colour and perfect for the Fall/Autumn, as I have said in my past post - it's also a great formula and goes on the lips smoothly.  The pigmentation is perfect, it's not too heavy on the purple which I like because I don't think I could wear a full on purple lip.

Whats In My Bag | autumn edition

I got this bag for Christmas last year and I still love it so much! Its not an overly large bag but I don't like to carry more than I need to. The bag is from Jasper Conran which they have in many department stores such as Debenhams and they also have their own website.

Firstly I have my purse which I also got last year as a gift for Christmas, its from River Island and is pretty big, I prefer to have larger purses than little ones because they have more individual pockets and I find it easier to find certain cards, notes, and receipts etc.

I then have some polo mints in the original flavor, I don't like the peppermint flavor ones so i only buy these, I like to keep these in my bag just for when I might be out for lunch or just want a fresher breath. I like to buy these in a pack of 5 from supermarkets because I always have them in my bag, I do end up saving money.

Next here I have my keys, which are an essential, not much to say about them they're lovely keys.

But I do have a key ring with the letter 'S' (for Sarah) that I bought a few years ago from London, i felt like a real tourist.

Now this was a great little gadget I ordered off ebay, what you do is charge this into your phone charger, and then when your out and your phone has low battery it charges your phone. Its really come in handy.

Next is a random little thing, just a hairband. But I do think every girl should carry round a hairband because I always seem to loose them or forget to have one on my wrist so I keep one in my bag just for emergencies.

This is a holder for my nail file, which is the best nail file I've ever used, I love painting and taking care of my nails (even though their not looking great here) but I was given this one for my birthday and I would definitely recommend it. Unfortunately when I was taking photos for this post I noticed that it had snapped. But I thought I'd include it because I am going to repurchase it, and I thought I'd let you know what I thought of it.

Now here I have my makeup bag, I like to take this around with me because I am very spontaneous and normally when I'm out I end up going out after or staying somewhere after. So then theirs always a chance i'll need to top up on my makeup or need it for the next day, I normally don't need everything in my makeup bag its normally just my powder and lipstick to re-apply throughout the day.

Next I always like to carry some form of hair brush or comb, again because I end up doing something after I've been out. Also because I have naturally wavy hair I do find that throughout the day, so I normally take something with me to make it look more presentable. I currently had a comb in my bag so that's what I thought I'd show you but I sometimes carry an actual brush.

Now this is something that I find I really need throughout autumn and winter, a lip balm. I noticed a lot of beauty guru's on YouTube raving about these so I thought I'd try one, and I love it. This flavor is 'caramel cream', and it smells unbelievable I just literally want to eat this (but please don't if you buy this, haha!). The texture of these lip balms are so creamy and last for a really long time on your lips. I would really recommend these. 

This again is a real essential for me throughout the colder months, a hand moisturizer and this is my favorite one I've ever tried, this one is the soap and glory hand food. This leaves your skin just feeling lovely and moisturized, but what I really love about this product is that it doesn't leave a greasy residue and it dries really quickly but leaves your hands still feeling soft. Also the smell of this product is just like all of the soap and glory products, it smells amazing. I really think everyone who gets dry hands should buy this its so worth the money.

Next product is my body splash from Victoria Secret and these last for ages, I use this daily and have only used around a third of it. My sister bought this for me when she went shopping because I didn't go shopping as I went to France to see my Nan and Grandad. (Bless her) and i love the scent (she knows me so well). Even though this is quite a summery scent I haven't yet found a autumn scent that I like more than this, to stop using this one.

Finally I like to take my glasses with me as I need them for reading things from long distance or if i get headaches I wear these as they help.

Autumn Haul | Primark, Miss Selfridge, New Look, River Island etc.

This is my Autumn haul, its everything I've bought in around the last 2 months, I've worn alot of these already and thought it may give some of you some inspiration of what to buy for Autumn of Winter.

 1 | This is a Christmas jumper that Alanah has matching to me, its from the men's section, (and yes the nose does stick out of the jumper).

2 | I love this blouse, its my new favorite, and I love collars so there may be a few throughout hauls i do! This Blouse just fits really nicely and it comes in loads of different colors if you don't like navy

3 | This was probably my most recent purchase and I love it but with this i would recommend buying it in a size bigger than what you are because it does come up quite tight.

4 | Again me and Alanah have matching of these, this bobble hat is also from the men's section and they have a lot of different designs for it, they did have one that looked like a Christmas pudding I might have to go back and get.

These leggings were kindly given to me from my mum (bless her!) they are a tartan design (which is very in for winter) and I've surprisingly worn them a lot since i was given them, they're so comfy and i love the color (navy and green). They are from Matalan.

Both these jumpers are from Miss Selfridge.

1 | Red Jumper - This jumper is knitted and slightly cropped, its very baggy and looks lovely on people with all different body shapes.

2 | I saw this top in the sale and it reminded me of a quilted jumper that's for sale at the moment for around £40, the only difference with this jumper is that its slightly cropped but I purchased it for only £15, which compared I thought wasn't expensive at all.

 Ohhh look! another collar...

This blouse is from new look, and i first spotted it because the collar reminded me of minnie mouse, its very floaty and fits very nicely on. I also love how the sleeves and pocket match the collar.

These black high wasted jeans are from River Island and I been looking for high wasted jeans for a while to wear with my cropped tops, and River Islands jeans are very similar to Topshop's they dont feel like jeans they feel like leggings and I've worn these to death already, may need to get another pair!.

Finally my last purchase was this cropped jumper from h&m, and its perfect for winter to wear with highwasted jeans or leggings, the jumper it knitted so keeps you nice and warm and the back of the jumper is longer so it covers your bottom if you want to wear it with leggings, they also have this jumper in black and other patterns.

6 Non Heat Hairstyle Ideas

1 | half up-do 

To do this hairstyle you'll need 2 or more booby pins depending on how thick your hair is, and you'll part you hair into two sections then place these on your shoulders. Call one side A and B (it doesn't matter which is which) then split side A into two section (one on top of another) and clip the top section to the back of your head and leave the bottom section down, then repeat on side B.

2 | high ponytail

This hair style is pretty self explanatory  to do this you'll need one thick hairband. Tip your head upside down so your hair falls to the floor, then collect all your hair, and take it to the top of your head, then flip your head back the right side up, and secure it with a hairband or elastic. Now you can mess around with your hair to get it to how you like it, by possible loosening the band or pulling bits of hair out to shape your face.

3 | half in half out

For this hairstyle it is the exact same as the high ponytail, but your when your head is upside down don't collect all of your hair, instead only collect the top half then flip your head back right side up and make sure it looks neat, try to split your hair from the top section and bottom evenly with no tangles or fly always crossing each other this could cause the hair band/elastic to get caught in your hair (no one wants that!) then just secure and again here you can mess around to get your hair how you like it.

4 | waterfall braid

This hairstyle is probably the most difficult to do and explain, it's easier to do if you know how to do a French braid, if you can then start doing a french braid but you leave a strand down each time, here's how to do it in more depth: http://m.wikihow.com/Make-a-Cascade-Waterfall-Braid

5 | plaited headband

This hairstyle only works if the length of your hair is past shoulder length, it's simple to do and still really effective, what you want to do is to a ordinary plait at the back of your hair all the way down, but don't tie it off! you'll want to then put this over the top of your head and secure it down with bobby pins, then do another plait at the back of the other side of your hair, and when finished secure it down over the top of the first plait we did, this should leave you with a plaited headband

6 | fishtail plait

Finally the fishtail braid which again is difficult to explain, your going to want to take all your hair over to one side, by one of your shoulders then split this into two, I'll call these A and B, and take a small section from A and take it over to B then take a small section from B and take it to A and keep going until you reach the end of your hair, for a explanation in more depth go to: http://www.sofeminine.co.uk/hair/how-to-do-a-fishtail-plait-som2083.html
