Last Minute Christmas Gift Guide | For Her

Hello, sorry for lack of posts lately. Both me and Alanah have been really busy working for our a-levels. But don't worry its finally the Christmas Holidays! and I thought I'd do one sneaky Christmas post before Christmas is over. So here's a little help for buying Christmas presents for any girls in your life, like your mum, sister, friend. Most of these items are pretty cheap and could probably go in a stocking, hope you enjoy and get some inspiration.

Small Bag | Primark £6
I think a small bag to just keep some money and your phone in, is essential for any girl whether your on a night out, or away on holiday at some point you'll need a smaller bag you don't need to carry the entire contents of your home in. This particular one I purchased a while ago from Primark, but they tend to have them in all year round.

Makeup Brushes | Real Techniques (price ranges)
This present is ideal for anyone whose into makeup and beauty. You don't have to buy this particular brand of makeup brush you can change the brand depending on how much you want to spend. Some brushes come in multiple packs which can end up being cheaper than if you were to buy them each separate. However they can be quite expensive.

Eyeshadow base | Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24hr £5
Eyeshadow bases are really coming into brands more, Maybelline's were one of the first I saw and I think they're amazing, they are very pigmented so if you wanted to wear them on their own they'd be fine and they last for a very long time because of this. Many high end brands now do similar products to the colour tattoo, such as YSL and Mac so if you wanted to spend a bit more their suggestions to purchase.

Makeup Pallet's | Sleek & Naked beauty
Makeup Pallets are an ideal Christmas present for a girl who likes makeup, there are such a range  in different pallets from eyeshadow to lipglosses, and they all come in so many different colours. You can really choose this product to fit the person your buying for such, from the colours that suits their skin tone, to the beauty products they prefer, there are also some great drugstore as well as high end products so depending on how much your spending, you can have lots to choose from.

Mascara | Benefit and Chanel
Again another beauty item would be mascara's I recommend both of these the Benefit mascara is the most popular mascara bought at £19.50 its pretty pricey, but I have to say you can see why people pay this price. It really add's volume and lengthens your lashes and I would defiantly recommend this mascara. A waterproof mascara I'd recommend would be Chanel's Inimitable Waterproof Multi Dimensional Mascara. This again really adds volume and lengthens your lashes, but its also waterproof. However you can change the mascara depending on your preference and budget.

Nail Polish | No7 (Boots) £7
Nail Polish is a lovely present any girl would be happy to receive and with such a range in brands, prices and colours you can most definitely change which one to buy depending on your preference of what you think whoever your buying for will like best. Nail Polishes last a very long time which I find makes your money go a long way no matter how much you spend, so any brand and any price would be good.

Phone Cases | Apple
Again you can choose this product to what brand, colour and price applies best to whoever your buying for. Phone cases are one of the most varied products there is. However I would definitely recommend Apple as a phone case brand to by from, the cases aren't the cheapest I'll admit, however if your a completely clumsy like me and always drop your phone its worth the expense, there's a range of colours available too.

Tartan Scarf | Primark £4
Now I feel everyone needs a Tartan scarf for winter they go with pretty much anything and come in so many colours and many shops have come out with them at a range of prices this year. I found this particular one in Primark, and its actually pretty good quality the material isn't overly thick however as its pretty long when wrapped around you neck a few times its perfect.

Perfumes/Body-sprays | Soap & Glory/Zara (range in price)
Now this is perfect for any girl, because hey, everyone loves to smell nice. Many shops do some lovely Christmas scents one I particularly love using in Winter is this one by Zara, I kindly received it for my birthday this year, its a very warming scent but not overly strong. Then a body spray I like using all year round would have to be 'Mist You' by Soap & Glory, it smells very fruity and is in a large bottle, its lasted me all year, and is a lovely fresh scent.

Thankyou for reading, I hope these gave you some inspiration on what to buy for some people, or present ideas for yourself. Let me know if you'd like to see reviews on any of these products of if I've missed anything out.
Merry Christmas!

Christmas wishlist 2013 | Alanah's

Hello! So.. we haven't posted for a couple weeks - we have both been very busy with school so we apologize for that.  Now we are on our christmas holidays hopefully we will be posting more often! 5 days to go til christmas aaaaah!
Anyway, here is my christmas wishlist - I haven't really asked for a main present this year, just little bits but I hope I can give you inspiration (even though I know it may be a little late now!)
Enjoy!

Beauty

I have never tried a Naked Palette but always wanted to, I think that the third one looks really pretty and I love the pinky colors in it.

I absolutely love Soap & Glory mascaras but haven't tried this one so fingers crossed it's good!

I mentioned this in my makeup wishlist a while back and haven't got round to buying it again, so christmas is the perfect excuse!

4. Sleek Face Contour Kit (Light) | £6.49
Looking forward to trying this kit it looks beautiful!

5. Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter (‘Sweet Tart’ and ‘Sorbet') | £7.99
I've only had one of these and I loved it, so why not ask for a couple more ay?

6. Maybelline Baby Lips lip balm (‘Pink Punch’ ‘Peach Kiss’ ‘Mint Fresh’) | £2.99
I had 2 of these.. and then left them in The Harvester (restaurant) aha, I loved them though!

Just my everyday eyeliner!

8. Jimmy Choo Perfume 40ml  | £33.50
Perfect smell! I've tried a few samples of this and I love it so much.

Fashion

I haven't actually asked for this for christmas because I've only just found it, but I am planning on buying it after Christmas because I absolutely love it!

2. Gilly Hicks Red Plaid Bra | £14.99 at the moment!
I love this pattern so why not have it on a bra? Also Gilly Hicks bras are so so comfy and I recommend checking them out - they are all for sale at £14.99 at the moment!

3. Black Timberland Boots | Around £120 I think
I love Timberlands and have wanted them for aaaages. I decided to opt for the Black as I tend to wear much more black than brown. Also they're different to the original brown Timberlands which I like.  I think they will go with a lot of things and I am really looking forward to wearing them (If I get them)

4. Jewelry | Varied prices
I have asked for jewelry and given my mum a few examples of what I like just to give her an idea.  I just need a bit more really.. not too fussed what it is. (Necklaces, Bracelets, Earrings, Rings...)

I have a grey one of these and I love it, it's not too cropped and the pattern is very pretty. The green one looks lovely too.  I have also just asked for 'tops' in general because my Mum is usually pretty good at picking things out for me.

6. Deena & Ozzy New Strappy Satchel | £30-£40 (Now out of stock)
I needed a smaller black bag as the one I have is pretty big, so this one will be great for going out shopping etc..

Random!

1.  New York wallpaper | Around £40 on eBay (but you can bid on them too)
I am wanting to redecorate my bedroom and I think this would look soo cool on a bedroom wall, I also love New York so why not!

2. Gift Cards (Topshop, Gilly Hicks etc)
There are a few things I would like to pick out myself so from other family members I thought it could be nice to get giftcards and then I can chose what I like.

3. Earphones
I just need some more because I keep breaking my old ones.. woooops!

4. Guitar Capo and Strings
Just need some new ones!

5. FOOOOD!
Mainly M&M's because they're my favourite, but I have also asked for some Lindors and Nerds.  They will make good stocking fillers I think.

6. Blonde highlights
Obviously I can't get these on christmas, just maybe a gift card or something - or a booking to get them done in a salon.

7. TV box for my TV
I have a TV.. but no box for it so I can't actually watch anything on it at the moment haha..

Okay so that's everything!
Now obviously I am not going to get all of this, but I like to give a lot of options and this is for my whole family I presume.  Also, my Mum likes to give surprises at christmas so she doesn't get everything on our lists.

I hope that you can get some gift ideas for other people my age (16) from this, and also maybe some things for your list (even though it's a tad late now!).  I hope you enjoyed,
Happy Christmas!

Christmas Tag! | 2013

Hello!
So.. very sorry we haven't posted for a while - college gets busy! Also I (Alanah) have been ill.. and now I have a cold so that's fab haha, hopefully I will get it over and done with soon though.
Anyway as this is our first post of December we would like to say Happy December! We hope you are all excited for christmas (if you celebrate it) and we have decided to do this tag to get in the festive mood (even though I think we already are).
Hope you enjoy!

What time of year do you start your Christmas shopping?
Alanah | Usually late November/early December but it does vary, I love christmas shopping - we are going on Thursday! I have ordered a few things online this year though.
Sarah | I normally plan what I'm getting really early like mid November, and the go shopping early December. I don't like to leave Christmas shopping to the last minute otherwise I find I don't enjoy doing it.

Do you have any festive recipes for food or drink you limit solely to the Christmas season to share?
Alanah | Not me personally but my Grandma makes an amazing trifle around christmas time and I don't really like trifles but I love her one!
Sarah | Not really, I don't really drink hot drinks until Winter but I only really like hot drinks, apart from hot chocolate which I could literally live off.

What happens on Christmas day in your home? (Routine)
Alanah | Well I always celebrate it at home with my family.  My brother and sister are 15 and 11 so we still do christmas traditional things (I hope we always do..) We wake up pretty early but usually aren't allowed downstairs till about 8/8.30, then we open our stockings and Santa presents.  We then usually have breakfast like croissants or pancakes and then open presents from Mum + Dad.  Then our Nan and Grandma come over and we exchange all of our presents from under the tree and stuff (I like to put them in piles and we all take it in turns - takes a while but I love it.).  We eat our christmas dinner about 2/3pm and then play games and watch christmassy films the rest of the day! I LOVE IT (I love talking about christmas)
Sarah | Well I have a younger brother and sister (aged 5 and 4) so they wake up super early, but to be honest I'm normally awake before them! we wake up super early around (6:30-7) so we don't miss out on the day and we all get our dressing gowns and slippers on and open our stockings, then we like to stop and have breakfast, we normally have a full english breakfast at Christmas, but without mushrooms because they're horrible! Then when we've all finished we go and open our Santa sacks and I may be 16 but Santa will leave me presents my whole life! then later in the day family come over and we do family presents, all day Chistmas songs will be playing and I know every word! Then dinner's at around 3-3:30 and for the rest of the day we'll watch Christmas films or listen to Christmas songs (its the best day ever!)

Do you have any Christmas traditions?
Alanah | A couple - on christmas eve we always do a treasure hunt for one present each that our mum does for us which is fun.  Also I normally film a lot on christmas day and try and put them all together afterwards but I never seem to finish it - I'm determined this year!
Sarah | All day we listen to Christmas songs, and I do the same as Alanah by videoing and taking photo's of the whole Christmas day!

Do you have a favourite festive coffee?
Alanah | This year I have been loving the Salted Caramel Mocha from Starbucks (although I can't find it recently...) and the chocolate orange mocha from Costa.
Sarah | I am quite fussy with hot drinks but I really want to try Cost'a chocolate orange mocha because it sounds amazing! Other than that it would just be a normal hot chocolate, but obviously with whipped cream and marshmallows!

Do you have a favourite Christmas song?
Alanah | O my, all of them! Especially:
All I want for Christmas is you - Mariah Carey
Christmas - Michael Bublé (I want to learn all the words though!)
Mistletoe - Justin Bieber (Its the only song of his I like!)
Merry Christmas Everyone - Shakin' Stevens
Sarah | Quite a few...
Christmas - Michael Bublé (all time favourite!)
Train - Shake up Christmas
All I want for Christmas is you - Mariah Carey
Wizzard - I wish it could be Christmas everyday (its a classic!)
Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree, how lovely are your branches - Sarah & Alanah (song we made up)

What do you do on Christmas Eve?
Alanah | Always with my family, sometimes we go to the cinema or the Theatre earlier on in the day, we get a nice dinner for that night (and we shop in M&S in stead of Tesco.. ;)).  Then we do our treasure hunt, put the stuff out for Santa (yes we still do that!), watch some Christmas specials and go to sleep although I usually can't get to sleep because I'm a big kid..
Sarah | Its normally a family day, we are mainly getting ready for the day ahead, last minute Christmas wrapping, some family come over who we aren't super close with and we exchange presents. But in the evening we watch Christmas films and set out food and drinks for Santa and his reindeer. I then normally don't sleep all night because of my excitement! However jealous of Alanah who gets a treasure hunt, I might have to bring that idea up to my mum!

What's your Christmas wrapping strategy? Do you have a strategy?
Alanah | Naah I just wrap it round fold the edges into triangles if I can and then pull them over and tape it.. never goes right though.  Although I do put ribbons and bows on it to make them pretty!
Sarah | I take Christmas wrapping very seriously, the wrapping paper has to be super festive! and I normally take my time wrapping each present making sure their perfect, I then like to decorate it with ribbons, bows and tags

What's your dream gift this year?
Alanah | My main gift is probably the pair of Black Timberlands that I have asked for wooo!
Sarah | A rose gold Michael Kors watch I've been wanting one for a while and think they look lovely

Describe your Christmas tree. How tall? Real or artificial? How is it decorated?
Alanah | Mine is fake (last year we got a real one and it died and my cat ate the branches hahaha).  Its probably about 5 ft and its decorated quite traditionally and I love it!
(photo below)

Sarah | Our's is also fake, mainly because my younger brother and sister will make a mess with all the pine that falls off of a real one, and their a lot easier to put up, we aren't traditional with colors, we go for browns and golds to match our lounge, but I think it looks lovely! I do normally have a Christmas of my own up at my dads but I haven't been to his yet to put it up. Anyways this is our family Christmas tree at my mums;

Do you decorate just the tree or other areas of your house e.g. windows, bannisters?
Alanah | We decorate everywhere, everywhere you look there is something christmassy.  Here are some photos!

Sarah | Same as Alanah, we decorate everywhere, this year we'e gone all out with lights we even have then on our hallway ceiling, here's some photo's of them;

What do you wear to Christmas parties and what do you wear on Christmas day?
Alanah | Welllll I don't tend to go to many christmas parties but I would just wear a party dress, probably a bodycon or a skater skirt and crop top.  They would probably be black, red or sparkly (gold, silver etc).  As for christmas day we change it up like Sarah, last year we all wore christmassy onesies (even my Grandma and Nannie!) but this year I want us all to dress up because I want to buy a dress to wear!
Sarah | I don't go to Christmas parties on Christmas day but if there's some before or after I'll normally wear a black or sparkly dress, (as I feel its very festive!) However Christmas days can be two complete different options, its either a complete pyjama day, but they must be festive! or a bodycon dress - think i'll be wearing a dress this year!

Obviously we tag all of you reading to do this, to get everyone into the Christmas spirit! However in particular we tag;
Chelsea - tiger love beauty
Charlotte - makeup by candelight
Jenny - Jenny you
Eleanor - peach petals

Hope you enjoyed this post, we will be posting frequently throughout the run up to Christmas, don't forget to leave a comment as we do reply to all.
